Worship at Peace Lutheran stands in the long tradition of worship in the Christian Church. Our services have their roots in North Africa, Greece, Italy, the Middle-East, England, Spain, France, Germany, and America. The liturgy of the church is drawn from Scripture and conveys the message of Christ-crucified for sinners. The songs we sing, some of which are nearly as old as Christianity and some of which are as new as our hymnal, originate from around the world, but they confess that same message.
Jesus said that all Scripture bears witness to Him, so it's fitting that our worship is centered on Christ and all that He has accomplished for us. In fact, our worship is called Divine Service because, as the people of God gather around Word and Sacrament, it is God who serves us: Jesus Himself is truly present through these means as the Holy Spirit delivers just what the Word promises--forgiveness, life, and salvation. In response, we live out lives of service to God by serving our neighbor in our various vocations. |
